Andrea (who has been studying music since
the age of 3) is currently majoring in Music
at Brock University and with be in her 5th year come Sept 2009. She received
both music performance entrance scholarships
and an academic scholarship from Brock University.
Andrea has also received scholarships
from the Brampton Caledon Music Festival
and the Peel Music Festival. She has been
singing with the Brock Chamber Singers for
4 years and enjoys it very much. Andrea has completed
Grade 6 piano with First Class Honours. She
sight reads with ease, and has an excellent
musical ear.
Andrea attended Mayfield Secondary School
for the Arts in Voice. At Mayfield she
conducted my own auditioned choir of grade
9 and 10 students. She also assisted
with directing a Grade 8 choir at Lagerquist
Senior Public School. She has spent 4 summers working as an assistant English/Math
teacher for grade 8 students with the Peel
Board of Education. Andrea was involved in all Choirs at Mayfield including
Chamber, Magnetics (Vocal Jazz), Women's
Ensemble, Gospel, and Fanfare. Andrea has
finished Grade 2 Theory and is currently
working on Harmony and History, and has already
completed the University Equivalent).
Andrea was involved in The Toronto Children's
Chorus, recognized as one of the world’s
leading choral ensembles for children, for
7 years. With this choir She trained
new choir members (apprentice trainer) from
the age of 12, and toured all over the world
to places such as Australia, New Zealand,
England, South Africa etc.
Andrea has been performing since a very young
age, and she loves it very much. She has
performed in many concert halls around the
world with the Toronto Children’s Chorus
such as the Sydney Opera House in Sydney,
Australia, Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto and
Royal Albert Hall in London, England. Andrea
also performed solo at the Rose Theatre in
Brampton and for functions such as weddings,
anniversary parties, competitions, and much
more! Andrea performed with Celine Dion at
the Air Canada Centre when she was 11 years
old as part of a small accompanying choir.
In 2005 Andrea received the Carl Duggan
Memorial Medal of Excellence for achieving
the highest mark in Canada in Grade 9 voice
for Conservatory Canada. Andrea is classically
trained, and enjoys singing Classical/Opera,
Music Theatre (Broadway), Pop, Jazz, r and
Rock and even Gospel!
